The research consortium consists of 10 research institutes located in Ireland, the UK, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Canada. The research consortium brings together experts in the fields of natural products chemistry and product development, animal physiology and nutrition, microbiology and sensory science.

A number of companies are involved in the project and supply seaweeds as well as assist with product development and life cycle analysis assessments. The project has an international advisory board made up of government policy makers, companies, research experts from the different fields and farmer organisations.
